Privacy Policy
Bloobu is a small iPhone app made by akarpati. This page explains what Bloobu collects, why, who else handles it, and how you stay in control. Questions: andras@akarpati.com.
What Bloobu collects
- Account. When you continue with Apple or Google we receive a sign-in identifier and, if you share them, your name and email. We never see your Apple or Google password.
- Your chats. The messages you send Bloobu and your answers to daily questions, with Bloobu's replies.
- Memory. Summaries of your chats and short facts Bloobu learns about you (for example a favorite food), so it can remember you.
- Your blob. Its name, color, hat, growth and mood reactions.
- Settings. Your time zone, whether notifications are on, and the notification token for your device.
- Subscription. Whether Bloobu Plus is active and when it renews. Apple handles payment; we never see your card details.
- Technical data. Server logs such as IP address and request times, kept to keep the service secure and to prevent abuse. The error log in the app's Settings stays on your device.
How it is used
To reply to you, remember what you shared, send your daily question, apply fair-use limits, run Bloobu Plus and keep the service secure. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.
AI services
Bloobu's replies and memory are powered by AI services. To produce a reply, Bloobu sends your message, recent chat and relevant remembered details to these providers:
- Alibaba Cloud Model Studio (Singapore region) writes replies, summaries and daily questions.
- OpenAI turns messages into numeric embeddings so Bloobu can find the right memory.
The app asks for your explicit permission before anything is sent, and you can withdraw it in Settings at any time; Bloobu then stops sending your content. These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Because they operate outside your country, your data may be processed in Singapore, the United States and other places where they operate.
Bloobu is a playful companion, not a therapist or a source of advice. Please do not share information you would not want processed this way.
Who else receives data
- Apple (Sign in with Apple, push notifications, in-app purchases) and Google (Sign in with Google).
- Our hosting and infrastructure providers, who store data for us.
- The AI providers listed above.
- Authorities, only if the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while you have an account. In the app go to Settings → Delete account to delete your account, chats, memories, profile and sign-in sessions. After deletion we keep only a one-way fingerprint of your sign-in identity with usage counters (never message content), so limits and abuse protection cannot be reset by re-registering. Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email andras@akarpati.com and we will help.
Security
Traffic uses HTTPS. Your sign-in session is stored in the iOS Keychain. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to your data and keep the software up to date.
Children
Bloobu is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used Bloobu, contact us and we will delete the account.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way we will update the date above and, where required, ask for your permission again in the app.
